About Poverty

What is Poverty?
Poverty is having an insufficient amount of resources to be able to survive a healthy and stable lifestyle. It also means not having a secure education and not being exposed to good steady medical help available to you. Poverty means you have lack of power and support given to you.

Relative Poverty
Absolute Poverty- measures the number of people living below a certain income threshold or the number of households unable to afford certain basic goods and services.
Absolute Poverty
Relative Poverty- measure the extent to which a households financial resources fall below an average income threshold for the economy. Although living standards and real incomes have grown because of higher employment and sustained economic growth over recent years, the gains in income and wealth have been unevenly distributed across the population.
